Inviting Collaborators to Your Project

You have the option to invite team members to collaborate on a Project.

Key Concepts:

  • Only Project owners handle billing (invited collaborators don't need paid accounts)
  • Collaborators can access specific Projects, rather than your entire account
  • Each user maintains their own profile and payment details

Add Collaborators to a Project

  1. Access Project Settings
    • Click the cog in the bottom left corner and select the Collaborators tab
    • Go to Project Settings and then to Collaborators
  2. Manage Collaborators
    • In the People With Access section:
    • Type email in "Add Someone New To This Project" field
    • Click Send Invitation

Here's how the invitation process works:

  • New users will receive an email inviting them to create a free profile
  • Existing users will have the project added to their dashboard
  • All collaborators will appear in the People With Access list once their invitation is accepted

Remove Collaborators

  1. Hover over collaborator's email in People With Access
  2. Click Remove (appears on right)
  3. Confirm removal in pop-up

Important

Removed collaborators:

  • Lose access to this project immediately
  • Keep their user profile and other projects
  • Can be re-added anytime

Accepting Project Invitations

Here's the process for new collaborators:

  1. First, you'll receive an email titled "You're invited to collaborate on [Project Name]"
  2. Next, simply click Accept Invitation
  3. Then, create a free RightMessage profile:
    • Just enter your name and password
    • No payment information required
  4. You'll be automatically redirected to the project dashboard

Here's the process for existing users:

  1. Simply click Accept Invitation in the email you received
  2. Log in with your existing credentials
  3. You'll then see the project appear in the switcher menu in the upper left-hand corner

Troubleshooting Invitations ⚠️

Common issues:

  • Expired link: You can request a new invitation from the project owner
  • "Invalid invitation": Make sure to use the same email address that received the invite
  • Accidental decline: The owner must resend the invitation

Contact support if the invitation:

  • Doesn't appear within 15 minutes
  • Shows incorrect project details
  • Links to a deleted project
